2020 Undergraduate Research Symposium Abstracts and Findings are Posted

The Fall semester offered students involved in 48 research projects, the opportunity to be innovative, test new theories, learn and practice new lab skills. Countless hours were invested by dedicated students and their committed faculty advisors to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real world applications. The importance of promoting STEM majors through research who are prepared to think critically and offer innovative solutions has become increasingly evident as the uncertainty of COVID-19 changes the way we work, learn and interact.

To safeguard against the spread of the coronavirus, the Undergraduate Research Symposium was cancelled. The opportunity for students to engage with industry professionals and experienced research faculty could not be recreated remotely. The opportunity lost does not diminish the efforts of the students, the investment of the faculty and the willingness of the industry judges to lend their time and expertise. We applaud all their efforts and recognize them here and in the program book.
