As part of a full day of exploration of the issues facing higher education, the presidents and decision makers from the State’s independent colleges meet with company and industry representatives during a networking reception offered at one of the 13 private schools in New Jersey. The reception offers opportunities for the academic, business and civic communities to engage in conversations that the focus on students, the value of a college education and its impact on individuals, families and communities.

Hosted by the Independent Colleges and Universities of New Jersey and the Presidents of our private institutions of higher education, the reception brings together decision makers from campus operations and finances to curriculum development. This year, Mead Hall – Built in 1832 by the Gibbons family, Mead Hall is the original building on the Drew University site. Over the years it has been used for classrooms, student housing and administrative offices. The name Mead Hall honors Roxana Mead Drew, the wife of philanthropist and Drew patron Daniel Drew. After being ravaged by fire in 1989, Mead Hall was massively reconstructed and restored to Greek Revival beauty by 1992.
Past events have been held at Monmouth University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Rider University celebrating the unique aspects of the campus settings from special and historic buildings, garden settings, and updated campus centers. Guests gain a sense of the student experience while learning how our independent colleges offer students a choice in academics; campus settings; social, ethic and economic diversity; and community engagement. Students can find the right fit among our institutions which all offer quality education, low student to faculty ratios, and supportive faculty and staff committed to student success.
