Founded in 1867 by the Newark Conference of the United Methodist Church, Centenary has evolved from a women’s preparatory school into a modern, independent, co-ed, four-year baccalaureate and master-level institution of higher education. As the primary educational and cultural resource for northwest New Jersey, Centenary offers a range of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs, as well as non-degree courses for professional and personal development. The University is a member of NCAA Division III, ECAC, CSAC and has 13 intercollegiate teams.
