Workforce Development—Fueling the Talent Pipeline

The Independent Colleges and Universities for New Jersey has made a commitment to proactively support alignment of the knowledge gained and skills developed by students attending a private college with the talent needs of industry, both now and in the future. The concept is built on an understanding that there is an evolution of the people needed to fill current roles or new roles that may open up with business development or changing technologies. Working with academic and career professionals, programs are developed to bridge that gap between college educated and workforce ready.

All employers are seeking the best talent. Employee onboarding which includes a period of learning and training after an employee joins an organization represents a significant investment which can be reduced when industry knowledge and experiential learning are in place. Working with industry representatives from across state and college leadership, the Independent Colleges and Universities for New Jersey is partnering to offer programs that effective change in curriculum and enhance career placement.
