Georgian Court University, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, provides a comprehensive liberal arts education in the Roman Catholic tradition. The university has a special concern for women and is committed to the core values of justice, respect, integrity, service and compassion, locally and globally. Georgian Court provides women and men with a curriculum broad enough to be truly liberal, yet specialized enough to support further study and future careers. It fosters an environment for the entire university community to grow through shared educational, cultural, social and spiritual experiences as well as the will to translate concern for social justice into action. GCU delivers 30 undergraduate and 10 graduate programs through the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Business and the School of Education. The university, which became fully coeducational in 2013, sits on a magnificent, 150-acre, national historic landmark estate bordering Lake Carasaljo in Lakewood, N.J.
Georgian Court University climbed more than 30 spots in the most recent U.S. News & World Report rankings, the greatest leap among the 12 New Jersey schools ranked in the 2019 edition of the publications Best Regional Universities North.
